“I’m Edalyn,” she said, dramatically extending her right hand toward Raine, “Edalyn Clawthorne.”
That’s not a real name, they thought, hesitantly reaching their hand out to meet Edalyn’s. In response to this motion, she clasped their palms together, shaking Raine’s hand so aggressively their whole body moved with it.
Raine Whispers is a 21-year-old violin prodigy working their ass off to graduate in a competitive field. Up to their neck in schoolwork, sheet music, and stress, the last thing they need is a distraction.
