Summary
You sit hunched in an empty bathtub, cloth canvas wrapped around you. Water stains drip down the wall, and broken tiles glint in the cold spring light. Shadows shrink and then lengthen as the sun glides over, which is nearly gone when you finally hear footsteps in the hall. The strip under the door burns yellow and a triangle of light cuts in when your father opens it. He has to lift and drag you to the hall before you find your feet.
