“No, don't bother,” Zistalmu bit out, annoyance coloring his concerned expression.
Thurfian ignored him, intending on helping him as much as he could. “Its a long shot,” he said, “ But if the captain decides to stop at Jamiron I can send a message–”“I said no!”
A speeder skid to a halt in Thurfian's mind. “What are you saying?”
The rest of the conversation passed in a blur, Thurfian weakly protesting as Zistalmu flung more and more accusations towards him. His stomach dropped and his dread only bored deeper into him with each word.
How could he not see? Thurfian thought. How can he not see that I love him?
(Or: What if the breakup conversation happened at the Mitth family homestead? And what if Thurfian worked up the courage to finally say something that was much much overdue?)

Summary
Most of the time, Cody understood why Obi-Wan was a High General of the GAR. With his intelligent strategies, skillful combat, and unending compassion, Cody admired his partner for his exemplary leadership (and loving heart). After all, it's part of what drew Cody to him in the first place. But sometimes--well, with Obi-Wan's occasional (immense) propency to get distracted on missions-- sometimes, Cody understood why Anakin is the way he is. Although his heart can't help indulging him, at least for a little while.
(AKA I use Obi-Wan to project my love of isopods on someone and also Cody loves his boyfriend)
