(Or: Lo'ak doesn't throw away the gun that night, but manages to survive his shot against all odds. Everyone comes to know what he did. How will his parents react to it? How will Lo'ak feel, having failed his attempt? And is there a way to heal after such an occurrence- not just his body, but his mind, soul and relationship with his father?
I have a ton of painful feelings and hurt / comfort planned. I've loved all the fics on this so far... and here it is my way!)

He comes up to a small mound, secluded—an unpopular area that is mainly used by sneaky Metkayina teenagers looking for a quick snog. He scoffs, thinking for a second that Lo’ak has come to sneak off with some girl.
Oh, how he wishes that were the case instead of.. of this.
OR
If Jake had been the one to have found Lo’ak in that one scene in Avatar 3.
