They were still so close, and neither of them were moving.
“What are you going to do about it then, Anderson?” Ellie challenged.

Summary
With tired eyes, she glances toward Abby sitting on the couch, scrolling through her phone, with her feet planted on the cushions, her hair falling over the edge. She wore it down today. Ellie swallows the fist in her throat as she puts the last plate into the dishwasher. Drying her hands into a small cloth, she turns toward Abby, her palms resting on the counter behind her.
“Your friends are real jerks, y’know that?” she wants to sound light, but her voice carries a heavier note.
Abby’s eyebrows furrow as she looks up at Ellie. Her eyeliner is smudged around her eyes, and she looks tired but happy. Her hair falls over her shoulders, making her look so pretty. It’s long, pin-straight, and heavy, nothing like Ellie’s hair.
or, Ellie and Abby argue in a very toxic yuri fashion and fuck

Summary
She turns back around and picks up Abby’s hands to try and rub warmth back into them. She very pointedly does not acknowledge the pang in her chest, and how much it feels like when she found her, starved and tied to a post. Then, Joel’s lessons on survival ring in her brain.
Warm the body first. Losing a finger or two ain’t nothing compared to dying. Okay? Dry heat until they are no longer in danger, and then move ‘em to a warm bath if ya have one on hand.
Abby isn’t going to get warm enough like this. Lying stiff on the ground, her eyes close as she loses consciousness again. Ellie presses her fingers to her pulse. It’s too slow. She’s still too cold.
There was, another bit of advice that Joel gave.
Now Ellie, sometimes you’re not gonna have enough blankets to get ‘em warm. Or maybe they don’t have much time. If that’s the case, body heat works well.
Ellie closes her eyes and swallows.
If she was going to go to all of this trouble to save Abby in the first place, she can’t just stop at the finish line.

Summary
Ellie and Abby play a match that changes their lives in more ways than one. Along the way, they may or may not fall for each other. Love is a ruthless game, after all. Much more ruthless than tennis.

Summary
She found herself committing everything to memory. Despite how often that they have done this now, she needs to know Abby intrinsically, like an artist would their muse- every curve of skin, every dip of muscle, each freckle, and where the blonde hair on her body is the softest.
And if Ellie were the artist, this would be her masterpiece: Abby with her head thrown back on the pillow, whimpering and shaking with pleasure.
“Look at me, Abby.”
