Eddie leans back an inch, smirk softening into a grin. “Besides, and more importantly, you can’t hide from me, Stevie. I know you’re into that shit. Deep down, you’re a suburban mom just aching to tell me to clean my room, I can feel it.”
Steve huffs something akin to a laugh, overwhelmed by Eddie’s proximity and ability to look into the heart of him. It’s awful, it’s terrible and embarrassing. On pain of death he wouldn’t have it any other way. “Not that deep down, if you ask Dustin or Max.”
