Rhaenyra was dressed in a simple nightgown, its pale silk clinging to her form, flowing as she walked. She made no effort to disguise her presence, nor to apologize for the intrusion. “I could not sleep,” she said simply. “I thought I might offer you some company.”
“Company?” Alicent repeated, the word foreign on her tongue as she stared at Rhaenyra. She felt exposed, scandalized, and her cheeks flushed with it. “You should not be here. It is improper.”
