Adam doesn't get cordoned off in a firehouse when he's on call, maybe he gets the whole day the way he wants it, or maybe he gets paged in the middle of a dance.
Sal can't help but think the building could be on fire and he wouldn't stop dancing with Tommy.
He watches Adam kiss Tommy's hand and shuffle off the floor. Leaving Tommy without a partner. Leaving Tommy looking at him. A little sad. A little playful, with those beautiful crinkles on the sides of his eyes and the sparkle in them that makes Sal feel like he's just won the lottery.
He's three steps across the floor before he's even given his feet permission to move.
