Summary
He doesn’t deserve her empathy, of course, and it’s always infuriating to be reminded that she doesn’t have the means to shake it, and he doesn’t have the capacity to feel it. The Doctor has always drowned in compassion whilst the Master held his breath. He left his hearts in a war, and so did she, but at least she went back for them.
He never even tried.

Finding the words isn’t as easy as she might have hoped.

The Doctor, Yaz, and Dan go on their post-Flux trip through the universe. If only talking wasn't so difficult, and they didn’t keep running into versions of the Doctor that definitely, absolutely should not exist.

Summary
It happened after a funny incident, which couldn't even be called hair-raising.
The Doctor caught a glimpse of someone, turned, and ran. So they followed. And when they got back to the TARDIS, she was acting strangely, demanding to know if they'd been seen. Piloting back to Sheffield, though none of them asked to return. And then she neatly kicked them out and vanished, leaving Yaz, Graham, and Ryan to return to their incredibly dull lives, wondering what on earth they'd done wrong.
Until, a month later, the TARDIS came back.
Without the Doctor.

Summary
“What are you playing at?”
The phrasing seemed to pique his interest, a somewhat more genuine smile appearing on his face. He leant against the statue again, elbow on its shoulder. “What does it look like, Doctor? It’s a partnership. A mutually beneficial arrangement, if you will.”
when the doctor and yaz find a planet in ruins, they’re only half surprised to discover the master is responsible. but when his plan backfires, suddenly they have no choice but to work with him to stop his former allies from tearing the universe apart.
it goes about as well as one might expect.
