Summary
I try to clutch to this instant, as ephemeral as it’ll ever be. I want to preserve it and make a home inside for us. No need for endings or adieus. I want us incapable of fading in time, I want us to last through ages, and wars, and trends. Like a painting. Like a cathedral. Like the faith of the last man standing. I know we’re earthly creatures but I want us to be deathless, everlasting. Even after our flesh has rotten and our bones have dusted the earth to become one with the soil.

.James and Regulus clutch to each other before, during, and after the war. Characters' study ensues.
