Summary
It takes longer than it should for him to realize he was born wrong, but not as long as it would have for any other child. As it is, he comes to this realization at age eight, staring out of a window. The sky is blue, gentle clouds rolling through over the sunny spring day.
It’s not a day he would forget, if he could forget anything at all. The day the static sparked into his life was the day it began the vicious unwinding of the careful balance he’d resided in before. People already don’t like children who complain or ask questions; Osamu has the dubious pleasure of discovering just how much they dislike children who ask questions about things that aren’t real.

Over a decade later, he shares a breakfast of eggs and very... familiar-tasting sausage with Hannibal Lecter, and he begins to wonder if he really is cursed, or if his damnation is actually a Becoming.

They had collected warriors and rulers to their side in the aftermath, though without the fierce expansionist tendencies against which the war had been fought.
Two years after the end of the Sunshot Campaign, negotiations commence for the marriage of Jiang Yanli and Jin Zixuan. Caught between his father's ambitions and a family he'd never anticipated finding for himself, Meng Yao finds himself fighting a war against his own nature.
