And to that, all Mo Guan Shan could say is, “Fuck.”
He Tian stops walking further into the house and turns when he hears him swear. “What’s wrong?” he asks, and he is greeted by Mo Guan Shan, barefoot and carrying his sneakers in one hand.
The old Mo Guan Shan—the coward who could not look his true desires in the eyes without flinching or lashing out—would leave, but that is not who he is anymore, and he is continuing to be better just like he promised.
So instead he steels himself, stays, and asks, “Do you…have slippers?”

It’s been a few months since they’ve got back together, yet the rush He Tian gets hit by when catching Mo’s intent in the liminal territory between his words and actions is thrillingly new. It stills He Tian’s fear. The fear that Mo might be swept up in He Tian’s intensity without meaning it, or worse, secretly repulsed. That boy is gone, the one who couldn’t accept affection without suspicion, who once thought He Tian’s interest was just a game or a means to kill time.
It’s a bit like roulette. Every so often—in rare, precious moments—Mo dares to take the first step in his own hesitant, awkward way, letting his excitement break loose. And when he does, when he gets caught up in that self-kindling heat, he pulls He Tian right into the freefall with him.
OR, Guan Shan accidentally finds a present He Tian's been keeping from him. His reaction is... unexpected.

Summary
The beating and screaming would have continued if only he hadn't been separated. His sight completely covered with a layer of hatred, accumulated for so long, was like a fuel that made him swear with rage at anyone who dared to stop him. Two men had to pull him back forcefully before something else happened. He managed to kick him once or twice, aiming for the head, and his shoes left a trail on the floor.
Slowly, things around him became clearer, as the white noise in his ears dispersed. He thought he heard a muffled sound, barely audible, and forced his eyes to look down.
Blood. A lot of blood.

The fight with She Li went wrong, ending with Mo Guan Shan badly injured.
