Summary
In the Fall of 1925, TK arrives on the shores of a remote island surrounded by a stormy sea. The rain that pelts the harbor is as bleak as the broken heart he carries with him. He’s taken a job as the island’s new lighthouse keeper - unqualified for the post but enticed by the isolation. He quickly encounters Carlos, a clerk at the town’s general store with kind brown eyes and his own past hurts. In his grief, TK thinks it will be better for everyone if he spends the rest of his days in solitude. Fate and the lighthouse have other plans.

Summary
Carlos's heart is pounding. He can barely hear over the blood rushing in his ears or see through the fog clouding his mind. Because he knows those eyes. He knows the hand he just shook, and the voice he just heard, although it’s lower and richer than it was over a decade ago, when the man he’d just met was called TK instead of Tyler. He doesn’t know how or why TK is here, in Austin, a lifetime after circumstance ripped them apart and spread miles between them. He doesn’t know how or why the Tyler they’ve been tracking all these months has turned out to be Carlos’s childhood friend, to this day his most cherished relationship, his first heartbreak. He doesn’t know how or why any of this has happened, but it has. He’s completely sure of it. TK – Tyler – didn’t seem to recognize him. But that face is burned into his memory.

To be fair, he never thought he would be a single parent and living in Austin, and that he would buy a small house just out of city center, but life has a funny way of keeping surprising him in the most unexpected of moments.
