She’d like to tell herself that she and Nancy would still be friends if not for the weird, supernatural trauma bond, but it had only been a little over a year ago when she had sat on the grimy bathroom floor with Steve and called the girl standing across from her a priss. It wasn’t a completely inaccurate judgment of Nancy. She was still the same short, sparrow-like girl from high school who wore pearl earrings and dusted her cheeks with pink powder. The only difference was now Robin knew what a sawed-off shotgun looked like clenched in those capable, manicured hands.

Eddie steps forward. Wants to grab, to hold, to tuck Steve under his arm and pull him close.
But Steve’s just as shirtless as he is shoeless. In fact, all he’s wearing are some sweatpants, and Eddie’s shivering even in his hoody and Steve really shouldn’t be out in the woods like this. All the same, Eddie can’t just go…touching. As much as he’d like to soothe his hands over soft, mole-spattered skin, he can’t.
It’d be dangerous.

Summary
Steve Harrington is not his kid. Hopper already has three, and he’s not looking to add any more. He’s sure of this fact about ninety nine percent of the time, the remaining one percent being when he’s faced by Harrington’s big, clear eyes and his perpetually quivering laugh. Hopper is not a great dad. He knows this, and he knows he should remember this, but Steve Harrington has a way of making him think highly of himself in the paternal department.

“I want you to,” says Harrington firmly. “You said open space is better.”
Eddie’s eyes gleam as he playfully tugs on a lock of hair, delighted and doing a bad job of hiding it. Harrington smiles like he knows this.
Wayne’s coffee is black and as bitter as he is. Eddie is smiling the smile he usually reserves for the stray cats that rove around outside. He can kind of see it, actually: those cats and Steve have the same big eyes. “Next time,” Eddie promises.
That makes Harrington's shoulders relax. He’s sort of uptight. Wayne doesn’t like that.
