“It look as bad as it feels?” He asked after a minute of silence, opening his eyes to look into Joel’s. He realized, in hindsight, that he should’ve attempted to clean himself up. Dried blood from where the bottle hit, and dirt from the alleyway caked on his face made it look even worse. But, the only thing on his mind was getting back home to Joel and lying down.
“Who did this?” Joel’s voice was rough, a contrast to the gentleness of his hands.
