Back to square one, Ena thinks bitterly. She truly has not missed the times when Mizuki would act like a skittish animal around whom Ena had to walk on eggshells in fear it would bolt, never to be seen again. This isn’t the same, not really, but it’s close enough to make Ena uncomfortable. To be fair to Mizuki, she had warned Ena, that time in the alley. She had said something along the lines of, “I might get scared again, so what’s the point?”
Well, Ena had been willing to cross that bridge once they came to it, and now here they are. And Ena isn’t letting go. If Mizuki’s scared, Ena will slay her monsters. If Mizuki wants to run, Ena will chase her.
She nods to herself, and picks up her phone.(or: how I just wanted to write a little spicy fic for my tumblr moots and followers and ended up with a 30k+ character analysis full of fluff and light angst and only incidentally smutty. ack. send help)
