“Safe to say we both care about each other that much, huh?” Will says, grinning hard but avoiding eye contact.
“Yeah. We do. I will always and forever try to find you, no matter what.”
Will steps closer to Mike. Super close and it gives butterflies in his stomach.
Will stands on his tippy toes and kisses his cheek. Mike’s lips part and he feels like there’s no more air in his lungs

“Soooo, what are you reading?” Will asks, inching a little closer to Mike so their shoulders touch.
Mike clears his throat and flips the page that he didn’t even finish reading. “Just some book my classmate gave to me.”
“Mhm. What’s it about?”
Mike inhales a long breath in and shrugs his shoulders. “You know-” he slightly coughs “just a….book.”
Will smiles and huffs at the ridiculousness of the answer. “You know-” and he pauses a little which makes Mike look at him. They’re face to face, close, and Will can feel Mike’s breath on his nose. Will’s heart stutters.

Summary
An impatient sigh escapes Mike's throat, “Will. I kind of just wanted to hang with you.”
Will's heart aches at the way he says it. Why couldn't he have just been a good best friend and not lock himself away from everyone?
Will turns his head, studies him and takes a deep breath. “I’m sorry, Mike.” A sadness washes over him looking at Mike's expression. Something is bothering him. “Are- Are you okay? Is there something you wanna talk about?”
Mike looks down, drawing in the sand with his fingers. Then looks at Will, moving his mouth around in a nervous way. “It’s not something specific. I just needed you.”
Will's heart almost sprints out of his ribs. Needed him? Mike needed him?
“What's going on Mike? Talk to me.”
OR
The two nights before Mike gets married will be marked as the nights that changed Mike and Will forever. Truths get brought up, and it’s just what they need. Even if that means they do something they shouldn't.
