Summary
After picking up Winona at Starbase 7 for her week’s stay on Enterprise, Jim’s shuttle is hit by a massive ion storm. Jim makes an emergency landing on an uninhabited planet and discovers that the only life on the planet are dangerous, prehistoric beasts. With The Prime Directive hanging over their heads, the three officers must try to stay alive until either Enterprise finds them or Jim can fix the shuttle to get them off the planet.

For at least a week, Kirk had pursued him with his request. First, he tried to convince him by smiling as convincing as possible. Then with pats on the shoulder and a lost puppy look. McCoy had been hiding in his office, pretending to have a lot of reports to write. The damned Vulcan kept coming by Sickbay, persistently. The most surprising thing was when the First Officer didn't make an excuse to run away from the regular check-ups that he hated so much.
