Summary
When Sangwon wakes up in the sterile white quiet of a hospital room, the last thing he expects is a roommate — Leo, a long-term patient who’s been there for over a year. Leo has grown used to routine: the smell of disinfectant, the hum of the machines, the sound of rain against the window. But Sangwon brings noise, laughter, and the kind of life Leo hasn’t felt in a long time.
Over weeks, their friendship blooms into something wordless — moments shared over half-eaten breakfasts, whispered stories after lights-out, the brush of hands as Leo fixes Sangwon’s IV line. Leo teaches him how to find constellations through the narrow window above their beds. Sangwon teaches Leo how to live again.
But Leo never tells Sangwon the truth — that his body is failing, that he’s counting down borrowed days. When Sangwon’s recovery is finally complete, he leaves with a promise to visit. A week later, he returns with flowers, only to find Leo’s bed empty and sheets folded.
The only thing left behind is a small sketchbook on the bedside table — filled with drawings of Sangwon smiling under the morning light.
