It’s…” she trails off, her words failing her, which is infuriating because she’s a scholar, she’s good at words. “It’s a lot,” she finishes awkwardly, for lack of anything better to say.

    HOLY. SHIT. genuinely one of the best fics ive ever read and im not exaggerating

    this is exactly how ive always pictured post-calamity zelink, their dynamic was so accurate and i loved all the headcannons (such as genderfluid link oh my godddd the world needs more of this)

    the marriage proposal scene caught me so off-guard IN THE BEST WAY I LOVE THEM SO MUCH

    also i just have to point out the accuracy of how zelda adjusted to being freed from the castle, i loved seeing her recovery journey and ofc link helping her ("i live to serve" 🥹)

    honorable mentions-
    - those two lesbians in kakariko village
    - impa being an absolute badass the entirety of the fic
    - the scene where zelda read the king's diary made me shed a few tears
    - THE SPEAR/ARCHERY TRAINING HELLO
    - link being selectively mute is canon now
    - the sheer amount of sexual tension

    i have so many more things to say about this fic but im tired

    In nearly every way (except the most notable), the Princess of Hyrule was the Goddess incarnate. For that reason alone, it was a little ingenious for the King to offer up his daughter’s hand to whoever was able to pull the sword.

    Link hadn’t meant to pull the sword. He planned to watch as his comrades pulled with all their might, perhaps even tease a few about how it was all for the better that the sword didn’t budge, because surely no Princess could ever love their ugly mugs, and then get into a good old-fashioned wrestling match with their bruised egos after one too many jokes. But it hadn’t mattered what he had in mind; Link’s plans be damned. The Goddess had already plucked him out of obscurity and set him along Her own path.

    the YEARNING
    ohhhhh my gosh this fic was beautiful. i loved the dynamic between link and zelda, it felt so realistic and messy and heartwarming and angsty and sweet
    also no words can describe my absolute HATRED for king rhoam in this, he got what he deserved in the end <3
