Connor can’t exactly pinpoint the moment everything changed, at which point in his and Hank’s story—at these words his thirium pump starts working just a smidge faster—but he can pick a lot of those points from a lineup. He remembers them very clearly and has replayed them hundreds, if not thousands of times, calculating possible outcomes. In each of these moments he wanted, felt, even if he didn’t yet believe these words could apply to him.
