Summary
Change comes naturally with time, the way waves crescend onto the shore, permanently skewing the shape of the coastline. While the coast fears the tide, the more the two meet, the more they intertwine, until the tide cannot be seen without the coast. The same goes for the way time moves, steadily as clockwork. With time, the clock ages, going from emitting a youthful hum to a weary sigh as its hands move. Time and change are two sides of the same coin.
Time is what has changed Tooru permanently.
