    Kai can blame everything – he could blame biology for dictating who he was ‘supposed’ to be with, could blame the system for instilling this sort of traditional dynamics for their subgenders, could even blame himself for presenting as an omega. But the bottom line remained painfully the same.

    Subgenders aside, Beomgyu would never want him the same way he wanted him.

    Maybe he’s thankful he’s an omega because he has an excuse to justify why Beomgyu would never look his way.

    “How’d you end up here?”
    “My friends think I’m some sort of hermit who doesn’t leave my one-room apartment,” Kai rambles. “So they forced me to come here tonight. Some singers they like are performing, I don’t know why I agreed.”
    “That’s… not really what I meant.”
    Kai coughs, looking over at the stranger. “Oh– you–” he laughs weakly. “You meant here as in here.”
    “Yeah, kinda.”
    “I was looking for the bathrooms,” Kai says quietly.

    Or, Kai learns that is it not very hard to find his person. He does, however, have to step outside of his comfort zone and allow his best friends to drag him to a music festival for the discovery to happen.

    “You’re saying he's a Sentinel and I’m his Guide. You're saying we're soul-bonded.” Kai's voice is small and painfully uncertain.

    Soobin had only heard about soul bonds between Sentinels and their Guides from romanticized stories and now that reality was sinking in, Kai’s declaration of the news seemed almost like a death bell. How funny that there was nothing romantic about being soul-bonded to his goddamn ex-boyfriend.

    Kai lets out a dry laugh, laced with disbelief.

    “I’m Choi Soobin’s Guide.”

    When Soobin broke up with Kai two years ago, he had no idea he'd meet that man again - this time as a newly presented Sentinel and with Kai as his Guide.

    the best story about soulmates i've ever read. such gorgeous & heart-warming descriptions of falling in love, the first willingness to trust. they're so different, yet so alike, it's absolutely ethereal. as a hopeless romantic who has started to loose belief in such kind of love i feel like being brought to the depth of my soul still aching to love so much. absolutely unforgettable experience
