Summary
Warm palettes of pinks and reds stretch across the sky, peppered with clouds and the moon just beginning to come out from hiding. For the first time in awhile, there’s enough clear air to breathe right, and yet it feels like he’s done something so wrong.
He closes his eyes and imagines his life before this, only to force himself to open them seconds later. He doesn’t want to build hope on something that won’t ever exist to him again, something that’s now nothing more than a memory. That’s too dangerous right now, and he’s not sure he’s willing to take any more risks.
