“So.” Akaashi took a deep breath, his voice shaky as he continued to eye Osamu expectantly.
“So,” Osamu echoed, his mind as blank as ever. Why had he suddenly stopped functioning?
Akaashi’s ears had turned red again as he tapped the wooden table anxiously. The same part of Osamu’s brain that had called Akaashi good looking now had a label for how he looked when he was flustered— adorable.
“Well, I believe that since we’re on the same boat, we could serve as each other’s fake boyfriends for our respective events.”
Where Osamu and Akaashi are both in need of a fake boyfriend, so they resort to becoming each other's instead. The fake dating trope at its finest with Osaaka.

“Hey.”
Akaashi looked up, his ears perking up at the familiar voice. When his eyes found another’s across the net that divided one team from the other, he was surprised to see Osamu standing across from him on the other side. He was hardly a picture of glory, with sweat trailing over every inch of him and drenching his jersey to his skin. But his rocket metal gray eyes were bright and alert, appraising Akaashi like he could pick him apart by look alone.
It was equal parts unnerving and comforting.

Summary
Keiji isn’t even certain that Osamu Miya recognizes him, though they’ve exchanged nods at his brick-and-mortar shop a handful of times before. They’re far from Tokyo, Keiji supposes, so there is no reason for Miya to expect Keiji in Sendai; but they’re even farther from Osaka, by hours and prefectures and hundreds of kilometers. There are certainly V.League matches being held this weekend that are far closer to Kansai than the Kamei Arena Sendai.
The Black Jackals and Adlers fans must be good business to warrant such a voyage, Keiji concludes, and leaves it at that.Akaashi and Osamu encounter each other again and again along the V.League circuit, and recognize that they are in parallel pursuits. (Neither of them particularly enjoys being seen.) (At least there are onigiri to use as distractions.)
