It had been weeks since they had broken Griffith out of a year long torture-stint. The state they found him in was abhorrent, he was almost less than human. Left unable to walk, talk, and barely able to touch he communicated with simple grunts if he even could through what to the remaining members of the formerly illustrious Band of The Hawk seemed like an unimaginable pain, the undergrowth hidden underneath the once fabulous and prestigious shell, a shell long since broken by a persistent infliction.

Summary
Griffith is killed during the three-year time skip. Guts gets a vision that tells him to take Griffith's body and the crimson behelit to a "witch" who uses the behelit to tie his soul to a life-size porcelain doll. Griffith isn't quite himself at first but after a few days he seems to be coming around. Now Guts, Griffith, and the Band of the Hawk must navigate their new situation.
