Vash didn't answer right away. He just looked at Wolfwood with the same soft smile, and something warm and at the same time sad rippled in his blue eyes.
"I have to go," he finally said, stepping back toward the edge of the balcony. "Take care of yourself, Nicholas. And thank you for helping me today."

Summary
Vash and Wolfwood take on a job: fix a stranger's car on the edge of a desert town, collect the money, and move on. They work in near silence, talking only about bolts and wiring, both pretending that everything is normal — except that nothing has been normal for a long time. When the sun begins to tip toward the horizon, Wolfwood asks a simple question about the future, and it slowly turns into a conversation about what kind of person you'd want beside you. Before either of them realizes it, they're both dangerously close to saying out loud what neither of them has dared to say before.

"Okay, babe," Wolfwood moved to his ear, and his breath was warm on the skin. "I won't."
"And...""And I'm an irresponsible bastard who doesn't deserve such a caring husband, but I'm incredibly grateful to fate for having him," Wolfwood finished for him, and genuine humor sounded in his voice. "I know, spikey. I've known for a long time."

Summary
After a shootout, Vash loses consciousness from a blow to the head, and Wolfwood, panicking, starts giving him artificial respiration. The problem is that Vash has only fainted and is breathing perfectly fine on his own. When he wakes up and feels Nicholas’s lips on his, he assumes they are kissing and eagerly responds. What could possibly go wrong when two idiots share a single brain between them?
