From across the schoolyard Susie shoves Snowy out of her way remorselessly, almost crushing the apple juice in her hand from the might of her grip. Everyone stares fearfully as she passes.
“I’m working on it,” Kris says.
Kris has never been witness to a functional relationship, but they'll fight tooth and nail to set their own example.

“—I hurt you,” Susie finished. She chewed on the concept, the edges of her voice frantic, her throat thick. “Because you deserved it.”
“Yes.” Kris pressed her hands against their chest. They smiled in a way that failed to be reassuring. Each desperate breath shuddering through their lungs confirmed everything Susie didn't want to know. “S’fine. It’s okay.”
Kris burned like a charred pan straight out of the oven, or an oil fire stoked by liquor. Susie reeled away. “You—you were trying to set me up,” Susie accused, trying to edge words around the chasm opening in her gut. “You were trying to get me to hit you.”
Kris wants Susie to hurt them. They need her to hurt them. Susie isn't as on board with the idea as they are.

Summary
From that point, everything blurs. The only thing Ajax is certain of is pleasure; mind-numbing, white hot pleasure lancing through every last nerve in his body. His mouth slackens to the point the soiled piece of silk that was once Wriothesley’s tie slips out, inviting his cries to bounce off the walls of his room. The entire space is filled with the loud, wet sound of their bodies connecting over and over, the creak of the mattress and the rhythmic thud of the headboard against the wall, Wriothesley’s rough moans intertwining with Ajax’s own broken sobs.
Ajax meets an older man at a bar, hoping for a bit of casual, no-strings-attached fun. He ends up biting off much more than he can chew.
