Summary
In which Jihoon has the pleasure (or possibly displeasure, he hasn’t completely decided which yet) of meeting Kwon Su Hyang, quite probably the most eccentric child he has ever encountered.
It makes a lot of sense though, once he talks to her father, who is charismatic, talented, kind, and every bit as peculiar as his daughter.
Or: Jihoon is very conflicted in regards to his feelings towards single father Kwon Soonyoung and his violently adorable daughter (but it kind of makes him want to vomit butterflies).

Summary
Soonyoung is used to grasping at a mask of optimism, anything to keep his head above water, but sometimes - just sometimes - he slips under. It’s okay though, because Jihoon is always there to pull him back up.
(or: It’s been approximately two days - 42 hours and 31 minutes to be exact, but Jihoon isn’t counting - since Soonyoung has texted him. Instead, Jihoon finds him crumpled listlessly in a heap on the carpeted floor, arm draped over his face and curtains drawn tightly shut.)

Summary
Vi scoffed and stomped forward, the gravel crunching beneath her feet as she approached Caitlyn, who looked up at her with an empty, disinterested expression.
She stopped right in front of her, chest puffed out, voice dripping with venom.
“Good lord, Kiramman, maybe pace yourself for once. What’s the plan? Smoke yourself into an early grave so we don’t have to deal with you anymore?”
Caitlyn’s head jerked slightly, her features a cool mask of indifference.
“Though I am flattered by your concern," she said icily, taking a slow, deliberate drag from her cigarette, “I assure you that I am perfectly capable of handling myself, thank you very much.”
“Oh, yeah? Is that why you’re here?”
Caitlyn slightly perked one of her eyebrows. The look on her face made Vi immediately feel incredibly stupid and childish.
“No. I am here to smoke a cigarette. In peace. Why are you here?”

A beat thuds from the stereo, so heavy it rattles the coins in the well of the passenger door. The crease deepens in Vi’s cheek until the smile breaks through, and when they’re back on the highway with the wind thundering through the open windows, sun on her skin and her hair cutting across her vision so that Vi comes to her in flashes of white teeth and black glasses, in arms shifting to the sixth gear, her voice full and loose as she sings, Caitlyn stops herself from closing her eyes around the moment because she can already see herself years from now running her thumb over this one like a worn photo from a wallet and she doesn’t want to be there yet, in the future where all of this is behind her — she wants to be here, now and in it, in the possibility that it could go on forever. Like asphalt, like sun.
