The boy from the Slug Club, Sirius’ brother, stood by the other side of the table. He held both hands in front of his body, enhancing the prefect badge that shone on his chest. The green of Regulus Black’s Slytherin robes glowed in the faint light of the library.
"Pardon me?"
"Can you pick up a book for me? I can't reach it.”
“You’re Sirius’ brother."
It wasn’t a question. It hadn’t been one from the second the boy had mocked him for wearing Sirius’ tie at the party. Remus cringed internally after saying it. Regulus wasn’t as subtle.
“Why, thank you for providing me with that information. Yes, as much as Sirius likes to pretend otherwise, I am."
“And you don’t talk to me, or Sirius.”
“Sirius doesn’t talk to me, and I am talking to you now.”'

Summary
Regulus Black is in desperate need of a fresh start in his writing career. Thankfully for him, his brother's failing love life is the perfect inspiration for a new piece in the magazine he works for; something never done before that will finally get his boss to let him have the writing freedom his soul is begging him for.
James Potter really needs to seal a deal. He's been working with his sales company for years and still hasn't gotten the big break he knows will get him an even higher position and really show everyone what he’s worth. He's desperate; willing to do anything at this point.
What happens when Regulus writes a story about James, playing with the heart of the boy who just so happened to have also placed a bet on Regulus to his boss?

A How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days alternate universe fic with Marauders characters, because the movie reminded me too much of them not to write them into it
