Hotch decides it's time to hire a new agent. Despite the rough start, he and the new guy get along surprisingly well, but the decision to open up his heart to someone new is a hard one and it'll take a lot of patience. Patience not everyone has.
In this fic Haley is dead and the team consists of Hotch, Rossi, Morgan, Garcia, Reid, Prentiss and JJ. It might not be fully accurate, starting a bit before s7 and seeing where it takes me.
Slow burn! Y/N is a quiet, serious guy who stands his ground when he feels he has to and hates taking orders that go against what he thinks. He's not emotionally empathetic so comforting Hotch doesn't come naturally, but they will eventually develop a bond and there will definitely be fluff. Not planning to write graphic smut but if it's what ya'll want I might give it a shot. Open to suggestions on where to take this/other story ideas!
