The sound of the deafening music soon faded as you travelled further away. It was still pretty crowded, compared to the way this area usually is. But compared to the swarms of people back at the main venue, this was really quite tame.
The sun continued to set, the sky falling into a deeper pink shade as it hid behind the buildings within the city. Even with all the people around you, you couldn’t help but feel lonely. If your friend planned on pouring all of her attention into someone else, despite the fact that she invited you specifically, you probably would’ve saved your time and stayed home. Maybe this was punishment from the world for your constant need of approval from people. But then again, attention from someone who doesn’t really want you there is better than no attention at all… isn’t it? -
