"You're too much of a brat to be at the emperor's beck and call," Xiao Chiye mused, "are you unhappy? Does he keep you locked up? Refrains you from enjoying the floral wings festival every year?"
"I've heard about the floral wings festival."
Xiao Chiye smiled in inquiry, the sun glistening in his eyes, "have you been to the market, have you seen it?"
"No," Shen Zechuan revealed truthfully with a light shake of his head.
Xiao Chiye feigned a dejected expression full of gloom and longing for the liberty outside the walls, as if he was trapped here, as if he didn't come here on his own damn accord. "Poor you, the emperor refused you from leaving?" He paused for a second, “How about this..."
"Lanzhou."
"Ah yes, dear Lanzhou," his grin widened, "the festival is next week. I'll help you visit the market and watch the floral wings festival at the hour of the moon."
"And say, what do you want in return, dear master?" Shen Zechuan enquired sceptically, his arms folding in a defensive form.
"Please Xiao Chiye....Ce'an, if you please- anything would do and ofcourse,” he dramatically paused as if wanting to land the next sentence in utter glory ,”a chance to court you."
