Summary
Osamu invited him to stay and help so he did. Jin invited him to enlist in Border so he did; eventually. Replica invited him to let people in once more. Yuma was unable to fulfill that request before his partner left him alone with strangers on the other side. He struggles to share the feelings that still dare to grow before they consume him. The rest of the world will stick to their smiles regardless of which path he falls on. In the mean time, every breath is for his captain.
Quickly becoming a compilation of Yuma-centric angst (the goal was hurt/comfort but idk how comforting some of these chapters are) of mostly missing scenes.
Minor canon divergence (Osamu moves in to Tamakoma when Yuma does, the selection exam is not moved up early, and an overdose of pining boys and teens trying to be in relationships) -

Lost on his way to a standard sparring match with Kage and Ko, Yuma is ambushed by overly nosy C ranks. He knew it was only a matter of time before his body was cast into question. He only hoped for more time at playing normal before the truth leaked out; even if only two more people were told.
