The smug little smile on his lips seems to indicate the latter. The day after defeating Orin, Gale is left at the Elfsong in the care of Minsc to recover from the ordeal. Unfortunately, the process of healing from being a Bhaalists's pincushion for a tenday is only a fraction of what's eating away at him. Now he's stuck at camp, hopelessly pining after their rogue, and grappling with just how damnably burdensome he is on the rest of his companions...
Or- Gale gets a perspective change and a lesson in love by being folded by the big dumb ranger. Yippie! 🎉
