Summary
It then dawns upon Kendall that there’s this sort of soft desire between them that’s surfacing, dancing at their edges. Stewy’s looking at him like he wants to reach out and hold that desire in his hands. And Kendall isn’t stupid, he knows what it is; a soft pulpy thing born from the college years; secret, suppressed.
// Post S4. Kendall can’t sleep, haunted by the hunger that was instilled in him all his life. A rumination on Kendall and Stewy.

Summary
Unnamed, ruthless thing. Lupe was afraid that by saying it out loud, she would ruin it, and she would never get it back. She did not want to admit to herself what it was. Yes, it was friendship– but the word friendship didn’t seem to encompass everything that she felt. It was so much more– a safety, a familiarity, a warmth– a gentleness that she had always hoped for. But the most gracious thing of all was that she did not have to say this out loud, because when Jess looked at her, she knew that Jess easily understood her. Even with the way she had guarded herself carefully all her life, Jess could see the true inside of her.
//Lupe goes up to Moose Jaw to work on the McCready farm. Jess is the shapeshifter that lives on the prairie nearby (and also the presumably missing daughter of John McCready). //

Summary
But all it takes is Lupe catching her wrist in her rough, warm hand; the feeling of her palm searing Jess’s skin; the look that she gives Jess, like she’s been starved, desperate and wild and fiery— and Jess is crashing down into her, just like that. This too, is inevitable.
/Lupe's working at Rancho Cielo Rojo during the off-season. Jess impulsively takes a train to Texas, just to see her, and has a lot of feelings about it./

Summary
It’s started getting bone-chillingly cold in Chicago, and she’s never lived anywhere this cold before, so sometimes she finds herself closer than usual to Jess at night, shivering. And sometimes, as if like answering a prayer, Jess will reach for her, warm and soft - even with all the callouses from playing ball. They never talk about it, and the lines between them blur on, and they blur on.
