Silence took over the two as Jaemin simply rejoiced in the fingers in his hair before lightly whispering “You’re lucky Hyuck, you don’t have to deal with stupid alphas”
It stings in a way Donghyuck knows Jaemin didn’t mean it to, ‘lucky’ wasn’t the way he would describe it.
Donghyuck longed to present already, logically it wouldn’t change anything that much but it mattered to him. He wanted to fall in love and find his mate too, he felt like he was falling behind no matter how much his pack mates reassured him. In a way he even envies the relationship Jaemin and Jeno had, while they bickered it was clear they loved each other.
Clear in the way Jeno would peal the shrimp shells for him, clear in the way Jaemin would have a cup of coffee waiting for him every morning. It wasn’t that he wasn’t happy for them but that he yearned for his own love.
A mate to call his own.
