Raghu pulled a title off the shelf, flipping through the pages. He could barely understand a word though, too aware of the stranger’s gaze. He returned the book, and wandered further down the aisle, stepping around the man with an “Excuse me,” and headed for the fiction half of the shelf.
The stranger was still looking at him. Raghu shifted his shoulders. He glanced back.
“Am I in your way?”
The man started, mouth opening and closing helplessly before setting firm. “No, no. Sorry,” he smiled apologetically. Raghu tensed. Even the man’s voice sounded right. His eyes too. They were piercing, but not violent. Just, heavy. Twin paintings of sorrow framed by long dark lashes.
Raghu blew out a harsh breath.
