But you just won’t leave him alone. He swears you know he has a crush on you and you get off on making him blush, ruffling up his hair and pinching his cheeks every chance you get. You tease and condescend to him like he’s some annoying little brother.
Leviathan does not want to be your annoying little brother. And if the only way to get close to you is to become a threat, then so be it.

An idea hit him and Childe hopped to his feet with a grin. “Fine, I’ll prove it to you.”
This would be a foolproof way to make a point and to prove Lumine wrong. A flawless idea. Probably the best idea he had ever had in his life.
“I don’t know what you’re planning, Childe,” she said, pulling herself up with the wall and reaching for her sword, “but it’s probably a terrible idea. Seriously, just admit that you like him because it’s obvious to anyone who sees the two of you interact.”
He spun on his heels and laughed. “So, Lumine, that’s where you’re wrong. I don’t like Zhongli as anything more than a friend, and may Celestia strike me down if I’m lying!”
Lumine’s face paled and the two of them stood there in silence for a moment, Childe ignoring his totally not rapidly beating heart. He was certain that this would be fine. There was no way he liked Zhongli like that.
“See, Lumine? I’m just fine—”
And then the lightning struck.
