Summary
“I didn’t want to lie to you.” Will’s voice is quiet and breakable, so different from the defensive, factual tone it should be. He should be meaner. Harsher. Crueler. “I just – I didn’t think it’d matter.”
It feels like Mike’s entire body trembles, shakes like it’s about to burst. “You didn’t think it’d matter if you lied to me?” He hisses, and his voice cracks, just the littlest bit.
Mike Wheeler tries his best to navigate his way through the end of the world, with lots of maybes and misplaced anger.

Mike constantly shifts his personality throughout the series, so I'm glad we have a new variant that unfortunately has never been explored before ☆☆☆☆☆

Summary
But he’s getting better. He’s getting better at it. Mike steps forward, and Will retreats. He’s getting better.
“You’re avoiding me.”
So, for Mike to barge into his room and demand an explanation for why Will has been pulling away – well, maybe he’s a little confused. Will finally rips off the band-aid. Mike won't let him.

Summary
Eddie shrugs. “Well, if I came back from the dead, I’d carry that sort of badge around everywhere. The Boy Who Came Back to Life!” He brandishes, raises his arms to motion them, theatrical and dramatic, and Will can tell he makes a great DM. Will’s lips raise in a smile, but doesn’t let himself look too impressed. Eddie glances back at him, grinning. “What? Not a fan?”
Will shakes his head. “You make it sound much cooler.”
Will returns to Hawkins, and makes a friend out of a certain metalhead.

Bookmarker's Notes
Since there wasn't any interaction between two of the greatest characters in the canon, I adore how this story brings them together. ☆☆☆☆☆
ps: In my perspective Eddie should be to Mike what Steve was to Dustin and Robin was to Will. After season 4, he should have survived and served as a mentor to both Mike and Will — especially in order to keep them from becoming conformists. -

Summary
“Yeah,” Mike nods, but it isn’t the most convincing, and he can’t find it in him to care, in the late hour, “I was just – thinking.”
It’s not the most significant outfit, but still. Will looks nice. He’s always looked good in white.
Mike blinks. That’s – weird. That’s a weird thing to think about his best friend.
He effectively turns off his brain.
Will asks, “About what?”
“You,” Mike replies, and maybe turning his brain off was the worst idea he could’ve possibly had at nearly three a.m., Jesus fucking Christ.Mike confronts Will about the painting, and lets a few confessions slip.

Summary
“Did I do something wrong?” Mike questions, mouth twisted in a frown, eyes less wide than they were a few moments ago, sleepiness gone. His arms stay at his sides, although his fingers fiddle with his sleeves. “What did I do wrong?”
Will frowns back. “You didn’t do anything wrong.”
Mike doesn’t look like he believes him. Will doesn’t blame him. “Then why do you keep leaving?”
The world ends, and then some. Mike and Will find each other again, amidst the debris and distance.
