Summary
“Iwa-chan,” Oikawa says, in the way that he does whenever he’s about to say something exceptionally annoying. His beam is saccharine, overly sweet like the six packs of milk bread he made Hajime buy him last week. “I found a bunch of exercises for friends to do together—you know, bonding activities?”
“Okay,” Hajime says, and he returns to his work.
“Iwa-chan,” Oikawa whines, more insistently this time. He slides off his desk and perches atop Hajime’s instead, knocking off several books and approximately six highlighters in the progress. “We’re friends. We should bond.”

Summary
It’s July 10th, 2024, and Oikawa Tooru is an Olympian. His smiling face airs on an NHK promo every 45 seconds. He’s captain of the national men’s volleyball team, reigning star of the professional leagues, and he hasn't spoken to Iwaizumi Hajime in two years.
He has, however, sent Iwaizumi tickets for the 2024 Los Angeles Summer Games.
“So go,” says Matsukawa's voice. “It’s only a few weeks. You’ve got a whole city to hide in if it gets awkward, and if it doesn’t get awkward, well…”
It’s like watching the future reconfigure, like being in high school again, watching team after team fall to Oikawa’s faultless planning and shameless charm.
“I’ll get to watch a whole lot of volleyball,” Hajime says, and resigns himself to fate and/or Oikawa Tooru.
“Hey, when you get there, can you bag a gymnast for me?” Hanamaki asks, and Matsukawa squawks.

Summary
The marriage between his father and mother is also an arranged one, that much he knows. They're partners, maybe even friends after so many years spent together, but their union is more about duty than love. That's the same future that awaits him, too.
He's been to Marley when he was younger, has probably met some of the queen's children before even though he can't remember them. He does remember that the castle grounds had a large garden where he'd spent an afternoon digging around among the bushes. His mother had scolded him when he'd shown up for dinner covered in dirt and leaving muddy handprints all over their hosts' pristine white tablecloths.
Now that he's all grown up he doesn't suppose he could simply run off to the gardens again in hopes of avoiding his future fiancée. The queen's daughters are surely beautiful and charming, but there's still the small issue of Eren not even liking women in the first place. Which, according to Zeke, isn't an issue at all.
"You don't have to like someone to marry them," he says as he's rifling through Eren's wardrobe in search of his warmest clothes for the trip. "Feel free to take all the male lovers you can keep up with once you've tied the knot."
