    It’s not until Lucy tugs on the underwire cup of her bra with a grimace on her face for what’s probably the tenth time in as many minutes that Angela sighs, turns in the passenger seat to stare at her, and asks point blank, “Are you pregnant or something?”

    Lucy chokes on her the sip of coffee she’s just taken, her brown eyes growing round and wide as she processes the detective's question.

    “Nooo,” she chokes out, her hand falling from her chest to her stomach automatically. “What… why would you ask that?”

    “Because you’ve been messing with your boobs since we got in the car,” Angela says. She’s just staring, and because Lucy had stupidly asked if she could drive, there’s nowhere for her to hide.
