“Courtesy of the chef, miss. Enjoy the rest of your meal!” The waitress said cheerfully, bringing Minha out of her reverie. She wanted to scoff and roll her eyes at both the waitress and chef, feeling almost insulted at their kind gesture.
‘Ah yes, let’s take pity on the girl in the pink dress with the best seats in the house, eating two portions of a meal alone, and get her some cake,’ she thought bashfully.
“Ah the chef is so stingy, couldn’t they’ve gotten me a bigger cake,” she muttered to herself before taking another angry bite of the heavenly dish splayed out in front of her.
“Do you think she liked the cake?” Park Jihoon asked his newly hired waitress expectantly.

Summary
The red thread story is something that we’ve heard a lot in folklore. It’s a story our grandparents tell their grandchildren, parents to their children in order to retain the pretty facade of love to the youngins. The infamous tale of two souls being connected by an invisible red thread being tied to the persons’ little fingers - at least in Korean folklore that is. The thread might be stretched, contracted and maybe even tangled but will never break. Bound to meet and eventually be together.
When Ikjun told Uju the tale in the presence of Jeongwon and Gyeoul, they laughed it off, advising him not to fill the young boy’s head with preposterous tales but they’d soon discover that some fairy tales transcend into real life.
