    "I am considering," Thranduil continues, still stroking his arm, "a few…alternative ideas, but I wanted to know if you would be open to exploring, ah…" he hesitates. "Gender," he says at last.
    "Gender?" repeats Bard automatically. "I hardly know 'er!"
    He's immediately forced to roll away, protecting his face with his arms, to avoid being suffocated with Thranduil's pillow.
    "I have changed my mind," Thranduil tells him, sulkily. "Maybe you are not deserving of librarian role play after all."

    Or, Thranduil gets reading glasses and they do sex about it.

    (Takes place 5 years after the events of Decade and One.)
