Summary
Mick Mundy deals in the affairs of man. Not affairs of love, friendship, or trust; the kind he can solve with a good head on his shoulders and a rifle in his hands.
Certainly not the affairs of the year-long acquaintances he calls teammates, or the strange secrets behind Mann Co.'s business practices. But when a simple mission goes awry, he finds himself inextricably entangled with both. Now forced to place his life in the hands of madmen, he, Scout, and Engineer must fight together to survive-- both the circumstances of their unluck and to appease Mann Co.'s cutthroat company culture.
It's no picnic for Jeremy, either, the newest member of the team. He’s about to learn what the big wide world outside Boston truly has to offer.
The biggest dangers to their continued existence may just be themselves, when the very nature of their existence is called into question. Are they truly cogs in some terrible, artificial machine? Do they really want to dig through flesh to know the bones beneath?
