Summary
“Why can you see the moon during the day sometimes?”
Yamaguchi looked up and Tsukishima looked at him. His face and neck were peppered in his summer freckles, patterns that were never the same two years in a row. But Tsukishima checked for the one freckle that always showed up right in the dip of his cupid’s bow and found it.
It lifted with his lips when Yamaguchi smiled at the pale full moon, the only disturbance in the blue of the cloudless morning.
“It has to be in the right place at the right time to reflect enough sunlight to shine brighter than the sky.”
“Right place at the right time. Like blocking.”
“Is that from your extra practice?”
It was, but Tsukishima didn’t want to admit it. “Stop insisting. I’m not going back.”
Yamaguchi said, “There was a daytime moon the day we met.”
