Connor was built to hunt. Clover's designed gentler. Their goals couldn't be more different, but the leash looks the same when you mistake it for purpose.
Freedom was never a thing they were allowed to consider. Maybe that only changes when you finally see the leash on someone else.

Summary
Connor is struggling with this case as the witness doesn't want to speak, a deviant android is missing and a dead man is left in a rain-soaked alley.
Madeline Graves has a pretty good idea of what happens to a deviant android who murdered a human and she's not about to help the police find him.
Connor doesn’t need her confession to build a timeline. He has footage, data, patterns. What he doesn’t have is an explanation for the way she protects an android like a person, and destroys herself for the sake of it.
Detroit is cruel for the ones that are not meant to be, somehow both of them need to find their way to become someone.
In which Madeline is an awkward bartender with a missing deviant android, and ends up working with the Detroit Police as an informant from behind Basil Noir’s counter, reluctantly helping Connor navigate his very questionable “social protocol.”

Summary
Connor needed time. Time to find a solution to his newfound problem. The issue was, if he were to leave him right here, Markus would be surrounded by his deviant army later and he would never be able to accomplish his mission. He couldn’t kill him so that only left him with one choice: Taking Markus with him.
Or, Connor couldn't shoot Markus and the revolution was successful. So he takes matters into his own hands by kidnapping the leader of the deviants.
