Summary
The Second Jade of Gusu Lan has been missing ever since the Siege of the Burial Mounds. -- No, missing isn't quite the word the First Jade would use to describe the absence of his younger brother from the Cloud Recesses.
When Lan Zhan had been dragged back to his sect and pulled to his knees in front of his uncle and elders, his brother being physically restrained to the side, he had been informed that he would receive one strike for every cultivator he had struck with Bichen before he would be stripped of his spiritual weapons and would enter seclusion until such a time as his injuries healed. He had broken so many of the rules of his sect, and the defiant look on his typically-inscrutible face suggested that he intended to break even more.
"Even as the threat of the Yiling Laozu has finally been stymied, you risk finding yourself on the crooked path," Lan Qiren warned his nephew.
Lan Zhan met his uncle's gaze dispassionately, wondering to himself what differences he would find between a crooked path and a winding road, should he dare to look.
