Summary
Kim’s helmet bag is heavier than carbon-fibre should be in Kenta’s hand, the fabric strap digging into his palm uncomfortably. It’s weighed down by what it represents: Kim’s choice to get some normality back, to return to racing. To step out of a world of super-powers and human trafficking and guns and blood and bruises and hiding and pain. Kenta understands, he really does. But Kenta doesn’t know who he is without all that. Kim has racing, another identity inside his helmet, a chosen path to return to. Kenta has a blank space, unwritten pages, and restless spectres of memory.
Kim leaves for Seoul. Kenta figures things out.

Summary
Kenta turns his head, expression steeled in a familiar indifference. “You should try minding your own business, from time to time,” he says, his voice laced with just enough venom for it to be detectable. He lets the cigarette drop to the pavement and steps on it. “It would save you a lot of trouble.”
He’s already turned his back on Kim when Kim says, “Some trouble is worth facing.”
Kenta thinks fuck off .

Summary
The first night Kenta stays at Kim’s condo, he leaves his bedroom door unlocked. It’s foolish, he knows—but weirdly, it makes Kenta feel like he has a choice in what happens to him.
That way, if Kim cracks open his door in the early, deep blue hours of the morning, rips the covers off of the stupidly plush bed and manhandles Kenta onto his back, Kenta will have let him. He won’t have to find out if that useless metal lock would’ve stopped anything. Because this is Kim’s condo. And that means Kim has the keys to Kenta’s room.
----------
Kenta doesn't understand why Kim doesn't act like the men at Tony's compound. Shouldn't he be yelling and hitting and hurting him? He's just a pet, after all.
Kim is almost as confused as he is. Why is Kenta so afraid? He's acting nothing like the sharp, cold, emotionless executioner who once held a knife to his throat.
