Still, Jayce couldn't help but miss the banter as soon as the quiet settled between them. For some odd reason he wished it was him Viktor was paying his undivided attention to, rather than his work.
But that was absurd, right? He wasn't clingy or anything, so why did he care what caught the attention of his partner? Why did he feel a weird form of jealousy curl within the depths of his chest, coiled like an impatient viper?
It hadn't bothered him this much in the past. Well, it had, but not so persistently.
Viktor didn't seem bothered at all; however, which almost made Jayce feel worse. Did he want him to feel bad about not paying Jayce any attention? No, he just wanted at least something other than set indifference.
...Maybe he was getting a little clingy.

Teasingly, his hands slipped up to Viktor’s forearms as he kept his copper eyes steadily trained on him through the drunken haze. They fit so perfectly in his palms, in the ways he held him. A lump welled in Viktor’s throat, threatening to release with a cry. Was this what it was like to be known?
“You’re the smartest man I know.” Jayce breathed. “Couldn’t you have guessed?”
Viktor could see that he was nervous, too. His lip was trembling and his breathing was erratic, which had never happened before. Not a single time. It was him who made Jayce Talis into such a mess.
“Tell me.”

Jayce has had time, they both had, even with all the turmoil of being thrown into another universe, even with trying to better this version of the world, of this version of Piltover and Zaun without Hextech. Jayce is not famous, and Viktor is not dying, and they have so much time.
